New Castle put another one in the bag on Monday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 71-60 win over the Taylor Allderdice Dragons. This was payback for the Hurricanes, who suffered a 65-45 loss the last time these two teams met.

Despite the defeat, Taylor Allderdice had strong showings from Lukas Stead, who went 6 of 10 on his way to 17 points and eight boards, and Markus Kuhn, who went 7 of 10 on his way to 14 points and five assists. The match was Stead's fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Trey Schachter, who posted 14 points.

New Castle pushed their record up to 8-0 with the victory, which was their fifth straight at home. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.6 points per game. As for Taylor Allderdice, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-7.

New Castle and Taylor Allderdice should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings. New Castle (ranked 18th) will meet Seneca Valley (ranked 301st) at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Taylor Allderdice (ranked 327th) will meet Perry Traditional Academy (ranked 659th) at 3:15 p.m. on Friday.
