Basketball Recap: Lincoln Comes Up Short

On Friday, the Lincoln Lancers were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 46-45 to the Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy Lions.

Lincoln lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Dechon Traylor, who posted nine points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Beikerson Alvarez, who put up four points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals.

It was another big night for Jackson Taylor, who went 6 for 13 on his way to 20 points and seven boards for Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy. Kylan Jones was another key player, putting up five points and eight rebounds.

Lincoln's loss dropped their record down to 4-6. As for Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 3-8.

Lincoln didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 65-41 win against Rocky Mountain Prep SMART on the 24th. Robert F. Smith STEAM Academy has also already played their next contest, a 70-43 defeat against Manual on the 22nd.
