Isaiah Collier returns to guide Wildcats in quest for repeat state title.

No. 25 Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.), the defending Class AAAAAAA state champions, begins the season one spot behind last year's finish and enters with a deep and talented lineup looking for a repeat title run.

Five-star Isaiah Collier missed much of last season due to injury but leads a number of key backcourt contributors for the Wildcats, including A.J. Burke, Max Harris and Khedric Oliver.

The Wheeler rotation is bolstered by 6-foot-7 Pebblebrook (Mableton, Ga.) transfer Kaleb Washington, who joins 6-8 starter Jahiem Hudson and role player Jamill Giles (6-6) to give the Wildcats size in the frontcourt.

COVID-19 restrictions prevent out-of-state travel but Wheeler pieced together a challenging schedule that includes showdowns with Sandy Creek (Tyrone), Pace Academy (Atlanta), Kell (Marietta), Milton and South Cobb (Austell).

Led by coach Larry Thompson the Wildcats begin the year behind No. 22 Milton, yet Wheeler remains favored to repeat as state champions after dropping down to the AAAAAA class this season.
