Softball Recap: Emporia Wins Going Away Against West

Emporia barely beat West the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Spartans were the clear victors by a 12-6 margin over the Chargers on Friday. The result was nothing new for the Spartans, who have now won nine matchups by six runs or more so far this season.

The victory made it two in a row for Emporia and bumps their season record up to 10-15. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.5 runs over those games. As for West, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-17.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: the Chargers beat Emporia by a score of 17-0 later that day.
