Baseball Game Preview: Hockinson Hawks vs. Columbia River Rapids

For the second straight game, Hockinson will face off against Columbia River. The Hawks will square off against the Rapids at 4:30 p.m. on Friday.

Hockinson will bounce into Friday's game after beating Columbia River, who they had gone 0-9 against in their nine prior meetings. The Hawks narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Rapids 5-4. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Hawks.

Graham Learing spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered four runs (all of which were unearned) on four hits and racked up 11 Ks. He has been consistent: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Hockinson saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Noah Tadema, who went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Columbia River moved to 10-3 with that defeat, which also ended their nine-game winning streak. As for Hockinson, their victory bumped their record up to 2-10.
