Basketball Recap: Taylor Ducks vs. Bastrop Bears
Taylor was the 75-70 winner over Bastrop when they last played one another back in December of 2023, but their luck changed this time around. The Taylor Ducks took a 60-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Bastrop Bears on Tuesday. The Ducks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Defeat or not, Taylor got some senior leadership from Eli Laurence and TJ Whybrew. Laurence went 10 for 13 on his way to 22 points and five rebounds, while Whybrew went 6 of 9 from beyond the arc on his way to 20 points and five rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Laurence has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Kylon Harris, who posted seven points.
Taylor now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Bastrop, with the win, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 7-8.
Taylor will be playing in front of their home fans against Jarrell at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Taylor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 52 points per game this season. As for Bastrop, they will venture away from home to square off against Navarro at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Navarro has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 196 points over their last three games.
