Basketball Recap: Algona Picks Up 11th Consecutive Win

Algona came tearing into Monday's matchup with ten straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 12.4 points) and they left with even more momentum. In a tight game that could have gone either way, they made off with a 46-45 victory over the Mason City Mohawks.

Algona pushed their record up to 16-3 with the win, which was their 13th straight on the road dating back to last season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 57.7 points per game. As for Mason City, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-6.

Algona has already played their next contest (against Hampton-Dumont/CAL), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Mason City didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 61-42 victory against Waterloo East on the 4th.
