Soccer Recap: Gilbert Takes a Loss

Gilbert fought the good fight in their overtime match against Brookland-Cayce on Thursday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Bearcats by a score of 3-2. Gilbert just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Leo Torres and Cade Hopp scored both of Gilbert's goals, bringing their combined season tally to eight goals.

Gilbert's loss dropped their record down to 4-4. As for Brookland-Cayce, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 5-3 record this season.

Gilbert has already played their next matchup, a 5-1 defeat against Lexington on the 13th. As for Brookland-Cayce, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next match, a 6-0 win against Airport on the 19th.
