Preview: Resurrection Christian vs. Prospect Ridge Academy
If the MaxPreps state rankings hold true, the near future looks bright for Resurrection Christian. They will square off against Prospect Ridge Academy at 7:00 PM on Friday. Resurrection Christian are coming into the game hot, having won eight in a row.
Last Friday, Resurrection Christian put the finishing touches on their 5th blowout victory of the season. They blew past The Academy 58-24. Senior Kyle Lueck and sophomore Tanner Applebee were among the main playmakers for Resurrection Christian as the former rushed for 104 yards and 2 touchdowns and the latter rushed for 78 yards and 2 touchdowns. This marked the 3rd match in which Lueck has rushed for over 100 yards.
Meanwhile, things haven't been easy for Prospect Ridge Academy, and their matchup last Saturday only extended their streak of losses to four. They were dealt a punishing 0-42 defeat at the hands of Eaton. Prospect Ridge Academy were in a tough position by the half, with the score sitting at 0-35.
Resurrection Christian's win lifted them to 8-0 while Prospect Ridge Academy's loss dropped them down to 1-7. Prospect Ridge Academy's offensive line will need to gear up for a tough test against a Resurrection Christian defensive front that amassed five sacks against The Academy, so we'll see if they are up to the task.
