Sparta extends road winning streak to seven

Recap: Sparta Trojans vs. Ash Grove Pirates

The Sparta Trojans scored the most points they've had all season to find success on Tuesday. They took down Ash Grove 84-70. The win was just business as usual for Sparta, who after six games remain undefeated this season.

Leading Sparta to victory were Walker Loveland and Jacob Lafferty. Loveland scored 20 points along with five assists and five rebounds, while Lafferty dropped a double-double on 37 points and 20 rebounds. The contest was Lafferty's sixth in a row with at least ten points. Leeanthoney Mayes was another key contributor, scoring nine points.

Sparta's win was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 6-0. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 73.4 points per game. As for Ash Grove, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 4-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Sparta will challenge Carthage at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Missouri (Carthage is ranked 45th, while Sparta is ranked 29th). As for Ash Grove, they will head out on the road to face off against Fair Grove at 7:30 p.m. on Friday.
