Volleyball Recap: Pioneer Comes Up Short

Pioneer's tournament run continued when they took on Floresville on Saturday. The Diamondbacks took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers/Jaguars. The matchup marked the first time this year in which the Diamondbacks were not able to get on the board.

While Pioneer was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the first set. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 25-20.

This is the second loss in a row for Pioneer and nudges their season record down to 11-3. As for Floresville, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine games. That's provided a massive bump to their 12-6 record this season.

Pioneer has already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Pharr-San Juan-Alamo Memorial on the 26th. Floresville has also already played their next matchup (against Madison), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
