Basketball Game Preview: Altoona-Midway Jets vs. Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans

Altoona-Midway hasn't had much luck against Marais des Cygnes Valley recently, but that could start to change on Tuesday. The Altoona-Midway Jets are headed away from home for the first time to take on the Marais des Cygnes Valley Trojans at 8:30 p.m. Having both just faced considerable losses, both teams are looking to turn things around.

Altoona-Midway is leaving town to face Marais des Cygnes Valley after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. Altoona-Midway lost 64-44 to Hartford on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest loss the Jets have suffered since January 26th.

Despite the defeat, Altoona-Midway had strong showings from William Stackhouse, who dropped a double-double on 18 points and 12 boards, and Kieran Foster, who went 6 of 15 on his way to 19 points. Stackhouse is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last 22 games he's played dating back to last season.

Meanwhile, Marais des Cygnes Valley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their seventh straight loss dating back to last season. They were outmatched by Lyndon and fell 52-21. The matchup was up for grabs at halftime, but sadly the Trojans struggled afterwards.

Despite the defeat, Marais des Cygnes Valley saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Landon Reed posted seven points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Reed a new career-high in boards.

Altoona-Midway didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Marais des Cygnes Valley in their previous meeting back in December of 2023, but they still walked away with a 41-35 win.
