Basketball Game Preview: North White Vikings vs. Caston Comets

North White and Caston are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2015, but not for long. The North White Vikings will welcome the Caston Comets at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Given that both suffered a loss in their last games, they both have a little extra motivation heading into this matchup.

North White is headed into the contest out to prove that what happened against Carroll on Friday (when they were outscored in every quarter) was just a minor bump in the road. North White was dealt a 60-24 loss at the hands of Carroll. While losing is never fun, the Vikings can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Indiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 453rd, while the Cougars are ranked 141st).

Meanwhile, Caston was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They took a 42-35 hit to the loss column at the hands of Tri-County. The game marked the Comets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Caston's loss dropped their record down to 5-9. As for North White, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 2-14.

North White suffered a grim 60-37 defeat to Caston in their previous matchup back in February of 2024. Thankfully for North White, Caleb Stinson (who went 11 for 15 on his way to 23 points and six rebounds) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
