Basketball Recap: Crestwood Piles Up the Points Against Wickliffe

After losing to Wickliffe the last time they met, Crestwood decided to demonstrate that turnabout is fair play. The Crestwood Red Devils really took it to the Wickliffe Blue Devils for the full four quarters, racking up a 55-25 victory. Given the Red Devils' advantage in MaxPreps' Ohio basketball rankings (they are ranked 208th, while the Blue Devils are ranked 545th), the result on Wednesday wasn't entirely unexpected.

Crestwood was led to victory by Hannah Ward and Livia Martini. Ward posted 19 points and five rebounds, while Martini went 5 of 7 on her way to 10 points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Abby Guyette, who had two points along with eight steals and five assists.

Crestwood's win bumped their record up to 8-4. As for Wickliffe, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-6.

Crestwood will host Berkshire at 12:15 p.m. on Saturday. As for Wickliffe, they will head out to challenge Orange at 6:45 p.m. on Monday.
