Football Recap: Hays Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Hays extended their losing streak to three on Thursday, dropping them down to 4-4. They took a 29-14 bruising from the Anderson Trojans. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Hawks of the 42-26 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in October of 2024.

Although Hays took the loss, they still got scores from Eyan Stigall and Miller Johnson.

As for Anderson, the win keeps them at an undefeated 8-0. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 13.6 points on average this season.

Caleb Crenshaw produced another solid performance rushing for 234 yards and one score while picking up 8.4 yards per carry. Crenshaw is crushing it when it comes to rushing yards: he's rushed for at least 104 every time he's taken the field this season. Cove Darbyshire was another key player, throwing for 195 yards and one TD while completing 82.6% of his passes.

Hays wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, a 45-13 defeat against A&M Consolidated on the 31st. As for Anderson, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 56-22 win against Lockhart on the 30th.
