Soccer Recap: Newport Harbor Takes a Loss

Newport Harbor lost against Edison on January 3rd and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Newport Harbor Sailors came up short against the Edison Chargers, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Sailors can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 696th, while the Chargers are ranked 174th).

Newport Harbor has been struggling recently as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-9 record this season. As for Edison, their win was their sixth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 11-4-1.

Newport Harbor will welcome Marina at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Newport Harbor is facing Marina at the right time seeing as Marina is stuck on a ten-game losing streak. Edison has already played their next contest (against Fountain Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
