Waco won the last time they faced University, and Shamiah Taylor did her part to make sure it happened again. The Waco Lions walked away with a 52-40 victory over the University Trojans on Friday thanks in part to Taylor, who went 11 of 18 on her way to 28 points. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in field goal percentage (61%).

Another player making a difference was Ka'Mauri Jones, who posted six points and five steals. She has become a key player for Waco: the team is undefeated when she posts at least three steals, but 7-18 otherwise.

The win made it two in a row for Waco and bumps their season record up to 10-18. That said, the team wasn't facing the toughest opposition over that stretch, as it included 4-19 University and 12-20 Lake Belton. As for University, they dropped their record down to 4-19 with the loss, which was their 24th straight at home dating back to last season.

Waco has already played their next matchup, a 54-42 victory against Belton on the 4th. As for University, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 56-42 defeat against Lake Belton on the 4th.
