Soccer Recap: Irvin Comes Up Short

Irvin lost against San Elizario back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Irvin Rockets came up short against the San Elizario Eagles, falling 8-0. While losing is never fun, the Rockets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 717th, while the Eagles are ranked 260th).

Irvin is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-13. As for San Elizario, the victory (which was their 14th in a row) raised their record to 14-2.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Irvin will face off against Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for San Elizario, they will take on Harmony Science Academy at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. San Elizario knows how to get goals on the board -- the squad has finished with four goals or more in their past eight matches -- so hopefully Harmony Science Academy likes a good challenge.
