Maclay came up short against Lincoln on Tuesday, falling 3-0. The Marauders haven't had much luck with the Trojans recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.
Maclay took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-17.
Meanwhile, Wakulla Christian School had already won four in a row and they went ahead and made it five on Tuesday. They put the hurt on the Baby Rattlers with a sharp 3-0 win.
Not only was the match a shutout, it was a big one: Wakulla Christian School took every set by at least 12 points. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-9, 25-13, 25-8.
Wakulla Christian School's win came from a few key players Maclay will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was Emma Barber, who had 11 aces. Those 11 aces gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Eme Guyer, who had nine assists and four aces.
Wakulla Christian School was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 22 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least nine aces in five consecutive matchups.
Maclay's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Wakulla Christian School, their victory bumped their record up to 13-5.
