Baseball Recap: Columbus East Has No Trouble Against Corydon Central

Columbus East won the last time they faced Corydon Central and things went their way on Friday too. The Olympians were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Panthers. That's two games straight that the Olympians have won by exactly ten runs.

J.D. Rotert made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits. Those nine strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 2-for-4.

In other batting news, Columbus East let Kaden Arnholt and Eli Tindell run wild. Arnholt scored a run and stole a base while going 2-for-3, while Tindell scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave Tindell a new career-high. Bige Asher was another key player, scoring two runs while going 2-for-2.

Columbus East now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Corydon Central, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.
