NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools recap September 24, 2013

Charlotte Country Day was able to crack the Top 25 in the state rankings this week after defeating Hillside. The Buccaneers came in at 19 in the state poll after placing at number 52 last week.

Charlotte Country Day moved up to 19 from 52 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools. Bob Witman's team was able to move up by defeating the Hornets 25-21.

Austin Kendall and Elijah Deveaux gave Charlotte Christian a balanced attack through the air and ground last week. Kendall threw for 191 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Deveaux ran for 164 yards. Conner Maitland also contributed to the rushing game with 62 yards on the ground.

Kendall and Deveaux gave the Knights a balanced attack in passing and rushing last week.

Kendall put up the best numbers through the air as Charlotte Christian topped Monroe. Kendall's favorite target this week was Bo Hines, who caught 5 passes for 69 yards.

Thomas Jackson was the best receiver in the league this week as the Buccaneers defeated Hillside. Jackson racked up 9 receptions for 116 yards. Tony Battah helped Charlotte Country Day's passing attack out by catching 2 balls for 30 yards.

He was 12-20 with 1 interception.

Preston Palmer was a key player and the best on defense this week as Charlotte Country Day bested Antonio King's team. He.

Deveaux was the best running back in the league this week.

Thanks to the talents of Kendall and Deveaux, Jason Estep's team has been able to do all sorts of things on offense. Kendall leads the league in passing with 682 yards, while Deveaux has rushed for 501 yards this season. The Buccaneers' Jackson leads the league in receiving yards with 271 on 20 catches.

Adding to the longest winning streak in NCISAA Charlotte Independent Schools this week, Charlotte Latin beat Baptist Hill 63-28,. This was the team's fourth consecutive win.
