Soccer Game Preview: Phillips Academy vs. Brooks

The Phillips Academy Big Blue will square off against Brooks at 4:03 p.m. on Monday. Phillips Academy's offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for eight straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Phillips Academy had taken Choate Rosemary Hall School down for two straight games at home, but that winning streak came to an end on Saturday. The Big Blue fell just short of the Wild Boars by a score of 2-1. While losing is never fun, Phillips Academy can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' soccer rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 59th in Massachusetts, while Choate Rosemary Hall School are ranked eighth in Connecticut).

Meanwhile, Brooks didn't have quite enough to beat Middlesex on Saturday and fell 3-2. The loss was Brooks' first of the season.

Having lost for the first time this season, Brooks fell to 7-1. As for Phillips Academy, their loss dropped their record down to 1-7-1.

Phillips Academy might still be hurting after the 5-0 defeat they got from Brooks in their previous meeting back in September of 2016. Can the Big Blue avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
