Basketball Recap: Great Bend Takes a Loss

Great Bend and Hays squared off in some playoff action on Thursday, but Great Bend had to settle for second. They were beaten by the Hays Indians 78-31. The Panthers haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

DeShawnna Bryant and Mikala Minton certainly did their best on Thursday to avoid the loss. Bryant posted 13 points, while Minton had four points. Those 13 points gave Bryant a new career-high.

Great Bend's defeat dropped their record down to 6-15. As for Hays, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 21-0.

Great Bend does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Hays, they have already played their next contest, a 56-17 win against Hutchinson on the 7th.
