Baseball Recap: J.L. Mann Wins Going Away Against Greer

J.L. Mann never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Greer Yellow Jackets 11-0. The Patriots might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four games by seven runs or more this season.

J.L. Mann got a great performance from Josh Carlson as he didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Carlson also tossed a walk, which is notable because J.L. Mann is undefeated when he allows at most one walk, but 1-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Riggs Manning and Kaido Greene did most of the damage at the plate: Manning went 2-for-4 with four RBI, two runs, and two doubles, while Greene scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Manning has become a key player for J.L. Mann: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 0-5 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Carter McAdams, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

The win snapped J.L. Mann's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 4-5 record. As for Greer, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-3.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. J.L. Mann will challenge Greenville at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. J.L. Mann will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last. As for Greer, they will take on Travelers Rest at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Greer is facing Travelers Rest at the right time seeing as Travelers Rest is stuck on a nine-game losing streak.
