Baseball Recap: Ayersville Comes Up Short

Ayersville lost against Edgerton back in May of 2024, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Pilots fell just short of the Bulldogs by a score of 4-3. That's two games in a row now that the Pilots have lost by just one run.

This is the second loss in a row for Ayersville and nudges their season record down to 3-4. Even worse, they were so close both times: the losses came by an average of only one runs. As for Edgerton, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 3-5.

Coming up, Ayersville is taking a road trip to challenge Hilltop at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Pilots' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Cadets have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season. As for Edgerton, they will host Evergreen at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
