Starmount dropped their record down to 12-10 on Thursday, which also ended the team's eight-game streak of wins. They fell just short of the East Wilkes Cardinals by a score of  7-6. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, as they also lost their prior matchup  10-2  on April 1st.
As for East Wilkes, the  win was  the 16th in a row for them, bringing their record up to 19-4. The  victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as  they  averaged 9.9 runs over those games.
For East Wilkes' part,  Chloe Andrews made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she  struck out ten batters over  5.1 innings while giving up  five earned  (and one unearned) runs off   eight  hits. Andrews has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't  tossed less than six  strikeouts in seven consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 2-for-4 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double.
 In other batting news,  the team  relied heavily on  Gracelynn Whitt, who  went 2-for-3 with one  home run, two  runs,  and one  stolen base. Another player making a difference was  Jaylee Byrd, who  went 1-for-3 with one  run and one  RBI.
As of now, neither Starmount nor East Wilkes have any future games scheduled.
