Baseball Recap: Chaminade Wins Going Away Against Fort Zumwalt South

Chaminade was handed a heart-breaking two-run defeat in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Fort Zumwalt South on Saturday. The Red Devils' pitcher stepped up to hand the Bulldogs an 11-0 shutout. That looming 11-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Red Devils yet this season.

The result came thanks to Freddie Grimmer's shutout, as he gave up just four hits. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Henry Ladenberger, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. Those four RBI gave him a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Jackson Miller, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Chaminade hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least four batters in three consecutive contests.

Chaminade's victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-21. As for Fort Zumwalt South, their loss was their fourth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-24.

Chaminade will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Bulldogs: the pair will be back at it again later today.
