Basketball Recap: Columbus North Skates Past Columbus East with Ease

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Columbus North walked away with it. They breezed by the Columbus East Olympians to the tune of 70-38 on Friday. The Bull Dogs have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won eight contests by 21 points or more this season.

Columbus North's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Hadassah Hurt, who posted 13 points and eight rebounds. That's the most boards Hurt has posted since back in November of 2024. Another player making a difference was Kaylie Harmon, who had 14 points and three steals.

The victory made it two in a row for Columbus North and bumps their season record up to 17-7. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 26.5 points. As for Columbus East, they dropped their record down to 2-22 with the loss, which was their 15th straight on the road dating back to last season.

Looking ahead, Columbus North and East Central will face off at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. East Central has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Columbus East does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
