Kapolei came out on top against Nanakuli on Thursday thanks in part to the team's impressive six-run first inning. The Hurricanes walked away with an 8-4 win over the Golden Hawks. The victory continues a trend for the Hurricanes in their matchups with the Golden Hawks: they've now won three in a row.

Keaka Alana made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Alana was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one run.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Chance Rellin, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI. That stolen base marked the first that he has snagged this season. Another player making a difference was Peyton Hilacion, who got on base in two of his three plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Kapolei's win bumped their record up to 12-1. As for Nanakuli, they dropped their record down to 1-10 with the defeat, which was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season.
