Basketball Recap: Giltner Comes Up Short

Giltner played a tough matchup on Friday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Heartland Huskies and fell 72-28. The Hornets were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 38-17.

Despite the loss, Giltner still got an impressive performance from Blaydon White, who went 7 for 10 on his way to 15 points. The dominant performance gave White a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Owen Nuss, who posted six points.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Heartland to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carter Siebert, who went 7 of 11 on his way to 16 points and three steals. Thane Wetjen was another key player, going 6 of 10 on his way to 12 points along with five boards and four steals.

Giltner is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 4-3. As for Heartland, with the victory, they broke their three-game losing streak and moved their record to 2-4.

Giltner will venture away from home to square off against Blue Hill at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Heartland, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 60-46 loss against McCool Junction on the 4th.
