Recap: Waldron Mohawks vs. Oldenburg Academy Twisters
The Waldron Mohawks lost against the Oldenburg Academy Twisters back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Waldron was the victim of a rough 69-45 loss at the hands of Oldenburg Academy. Waldron has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Waldron lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Alyssa Benson, who scored 14 points along with nine steals and six rebounds. Benson scored a full 31.1% of Waldron's points, the fourth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Grace Fischer, who scored 12 points along with seven rebounds.
Waldron has been struggling recently, as they've lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season. As for Oldenburg Academy, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight games, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Waldron will take on Triton Central at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Triton Central is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Oldenburg Academy, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Shawe Memorial at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
