Baseball Recap: Mitchell Takes a Loss

Mitchell had lost 11 straight at home dating back to last season, but on Saturday they dropped down to 1-13 to make it 12. They lost 30-0 to The Classical Academy Titans. If the Marauders were looking for revenge after losing 20-0 to the Titans when the teams met back in March of 2025, then they'll just have to keep looking.

As for The Classical Academy, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 11-5. Considering they have won eight contests by more than five runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

For The Classical Academy's part, Zach Mediavilla was a standout: he went 3-for-4 with five runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. That's the most RBI Mediavilla has posted since back in May of 2025. Finn Brickler also deserves some recognition as he hit his first double of the season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mitchell will square off against Hinkley at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Thunder have struggled to contain batters this season (they've allowed 18.08 runs per game on average), something the Marauders will no doubt try to take advantage of. As for The Classical Academy, they will face off against Colorado Springs Christian at 4:00 p.m. on Monday. The Lions will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more runs each matchup than the last.
