Basketball Recap: Roosevelt Takes a Loss

Roosevelt played a tough game on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They were outmatched by the Severance Silver Knights and fell 64-32. The Roughriders have struggled against the Silver Knights recently, as the game was their eighth consecutive lost matchup.

Severance's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Blake Varney, who posted 16 points and six boards. The dominant performance also gave Varney a new career-high in shooting accuracy (80%). Christian Powell was another key player, going 7-for-12 to rack up 16 points.

Roosevelt's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Severance, the win (which was their tenth in a row) raised their record to 15-5.

Looking ahead, Roosevelt will take on Berthoud at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Severance, they will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Wellington at 7:30 p.m.
