Basketball Recap: Lakeland Find Success

Lakeland won the last time they faced Kettering and things went their way on Friday too. The Lakeland Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 48-45 victory over the Kettering Captains.

Despite the loss, Kettering still got an impressive performance from Jordan Jarrell, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards. Jarrell is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as he's now grabbed two or more in the last seven games he's played dating back to last season. Hunter Jager was another key player, putting up nine points.

Lakeland's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-2 and their overall record up to 2-3. As for Kettering, their loss was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-4.

Lakeland and Walled Lake Western will compete for holiday cheer at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Walled Lake Western has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. Kettering will take on South Lyon East in a holiday battle at at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. South Lyon East knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past three matchups -- so hopefully Kettering likes a good challenge.
