Basketball Recap: Make It Five in a Row for Southwest Covenant

Southwest Covenant won the last time they faced Luther and things went their way on Friday too. The Southwest Covenant Patriots snuck past the Luther Lions with a 47-42 win. The 47-point effort marked the Patriots' lowest-scoring contest of the season, but in the end it didn't matter.

Despite the loss, Luther still got an impressive performance from AJ Hattenhauer, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 boards. Aden Henke was another key player, putting up eight points.

The victory keeps them at an undefeated 5-0. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 69.2 points per game. As for Luther, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 2-2.

Southwest Covenant and Hydro-Eakly will compete for holiday cheer at 8:00 p.m. on December 20th. As for Luther, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 62-54 win against Chisholm on the 14th.
