Kinsley Dunlow was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024.
In other batting news, Casey Piland was a standout: she went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Myah Bradley, who scored two runs and stole two bases while going 1-for-3.
Meanwhile, Community Christian never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 16-0 margin over Neuse Christian Academy. Considering the Cyclones have won four games by more than nine runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Ahoskie Christian, Community Christian also got a great game from a two-way player: Lora Ielfield. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit over four innings pitched. Ielfield was also big at the plate, scoring three runs while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances.
In other batting news, Kylee Renfrow was incredible, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-3. That stolen base marked the first that she snagged this season. Emma Horne was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-3.
Community Christian was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .448. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .346 or higher in four consecutive matches.
Community Christian's record is now 5-0-1. As for Ahoskie Christian, they now have a winning record of 5-4.
Monday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Ahoskie Christian has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. However, it's not like Community Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .564. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
