Soccer Recap: Tascosa Triumphs

Tascosa's game on Tuesday was all tied up 0-0 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They had just enough and edged the Amarillo Sandies out 1-0. Given the Rebels' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 199th, while the Sandies are ranked 400th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Tascosa's one-goal win came courtesy of Jean Paul Maneno, who's now up to three this season.

Tascosa's win bumped their record up to 7-2-1. As for Amarillo, their loss dropped their record down to 4-4-1.

Tascosa will square off against Lubbock-Cooper at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Tascosa is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3 goals per game this season. As for Amarillo, they will be playing at home against Monterey at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Monterey will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something Amarillo surely won't give up without a fight.
