Softball Recap: Lemoore Victorious

After only two runs in their last contest, Lemoore made sure to put some runs up on the board against Hanford on Friday. The Tigers came out on top against the Bullpups by a score of 11-8. That's more bragging rights for the Tigers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Maddie Bivens was incredible, going 3-for-4 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Those three hits gave her a new career-high. Giselle Rodriguez was another key player, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and one run.

Lemoore hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least five batters in three consecutive games.

Lemoore's win was their first in the league, bumping their league record up to 1-4 and their overall record up to 4-16-1. As for Hanford, they dropped their record down to 6-13-2 with the loss, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Lemoore will venture away from home to square off against Tulare Union at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The Tribe will roll in looking for their sixth straight victory, something the Tigers surely won't give up without a fight. As for Hanford, they are taking a road trip to challenge Dinuba at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The Bullpups are facing the Emperors at the right time seeing as the Emperors are stuck on a three-game losing streak.
