Softball Recap: St. John XXIII Lions vs. St. Pius X Panthers

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against St. Agnes Academy, St. John XXIII was happy to have turned things around on Thursday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 victory over the St. Pius X Panthers. The game was the first time the Lions have beaten the Panthers on their field since March 27, 2018.

Alexa Ramirez spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered six earned (and one unearned) runs on eight hits.

At the plate, Emma Morrison was a standout: she scored a run while going 3-for-3. What's more, she posted three RBI, the most she's had since back in April of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Delaune, who scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.
