Baseball Recap: St. Joseph Comes Up Short

Aquinas Academy hit St. Joseph with a five-run sixth inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Spartans came up short against the Crusaders, falling 15-7. The Spartans' defeat continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Luca Schiano Di Cola made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went a perfect 3-for-3 with six stolen bases and three runs. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last four times he's played. Owen Pakulski also deserves some recognition as he scored his first run of the season.

St. Joseph's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Aquinas Academy, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 3-9.

While St. Joseph had to take the loss, they won't have to wait long to give it another shot: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
