Basketball Recap: Ponchatoula Find Success

Ponchatoula won the last time they faced Archbishop Rummel and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Ponchatoula Green Wave secured a 66-62 W over the Archbishop Rummel Raiders.

Archbishop Rummel's loss came despite strong showings from Jackson Cosentino and Brandon Melancon. Cosentino went 7 of 15 on his way to 18 points and three steals, while Melancon posted 15 points and five rebounds. The dominant performance gave Melancon a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Harrison Chatagnier, who put up four points.

Ponchatoula now has a winning record of 2-1. As for Archbishop Rummel, their loss was their first of the season and also makes their record 2-1.

Ponchatoula didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 64-54 victory against Bourgeois on the 4th. As for Archbishop Rummel, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 60-11 win against Bogalusa on the 3rd.
