Volleyball Recap: Trenton Tigers vs. Leonard Tigers

Trenton managed to slip by Leonard the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. Trenton came up short against Leonard on Tuesday, falling 3-0. Trenton was given a dose of their own medicine in this game as Leonard apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2024.

Trenton took the loss but they managed to make steady progress, increasing their score in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-11, 25-13, 25-14.

Leonard found their leader in sophomore Ava Flowers, who had 30 assists and five aces. Flowers is on a roll when it comes to assists, as she's now posted 15 or more in each of the last 18 games she's played dating back to last season. The team also got some help courtesy of Leah Stoy, who had six kills and two aces.

Trenton's defeat dropped their record down to 1-5. As for Leonard, they are on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last nine matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-2 record this season.

Trenton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 win against Forestburg on the 28th. Hopefully Leonard paid attention to Trenton's game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on Trenton at 9:00 a.m. on Thursday.
