Basketball Recap: Grace Academy Comes Up Short

Grace Academy lost against Carroll Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Grace Academy Knights fell to Carroll Christian 50-45.

Leading Carroll Christian to victory were Joanna Mathews and Joelle Mathews. Joanna posted 23 points along with seven boards and six assists, while Joelle dropped a double-double on 21 points and 14 rebounds. That makes it 12 consecutive games in which Joanna has scored at least a third of Carroll Christian's points. Another player making a difference was Kardyn Kraipovich, who put up no points in addition to six rebounds and three steals.

Grace Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 0-2. As for Carroll Christian, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 8-4 record this season.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Grace Academy has already played their next game (against Cumberland Valley Christian), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Carroll Christian will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Redeemer Classical Christ at 5:30 p.m. on January 28th.
