Volleyball Preview: Central Tigers vs. Woodland Cardinals

The Central Tigers have the luxury of staying home for another game and will welcome the Woodland Cardinals at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Woodland is facing Central at the wrong time: Central suffered their first home loss of the season on Tuesday and they're likely out for redemption. They lost 3-0 to the Fighting Indians. The Tigers' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Central was not held off the scoreboard, but that almost wasn't the case: they kept the first set very close. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-19, 25-22, 25-18.

Meanwhile, Woodland didn't have quite enough to beat Dexter on Monday and fell 3-2. The Cardinals haven't had much luck with the Bearcats recently, as the team's come up short the last three times they've met.

Woodland took a 2-1 lead headed into the fourth set, but sadly they lost the next two. The final score came out to 27-25, 18-25, 25-27, 25-17, 15-10.

Woodland might have lost, but man, Carrie Long was a machine: she had 34 digs.

Central's defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-6-1. As for Woodland, their loss dropped their record down to 8-7.
