Football Recap: Wyatt Knapp and Ben Souza Lead the Defense for Park City Win

Park City won the last time they faced Salem Hills and Josh Hofer did his part to make sure it happened again. The Miners came out on top against the Skyhawks by a score of 30-17 on Friday thanks in part to Hofer, who rushed for 120 yards and one score on only 11 carries, and also threw for 181 yards and a pair of TDs. His longest rush was for an impressive 60 yards, which helps to explain his lofty yards per carry total.

Park City didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Wyatt Knapp and Ben Souza. Souza is also on a roll when it comes to total tackles, as he's now made five or more in each of the last 12 games he's played dating back to last season.

Special teams played a big role in the game for Park City, adding 12 points to the final score. All those points came courtesy of Tanner Pidwell: he added nine points with three field goals and another three kicking extra points.

Park City has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 4-3 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.0 points on average over those games. As for Salem Hills, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 3-3.
