Basketball Recap: Lovejoy Comes Up Short

Lovejoy lost against McIntosh back in December of 2018 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Lovejoy Wildcats took a 53-49 hit to the loss column at the hands of the McIntosh Chiefs. The Wildcats' defeat continues a trend for the team, making it four in a row.

When it comes to explaining why Lovejoy lost, don't look at Noah Banks. Despite the final result, he went 6 for 15 en route to 21 points along with six boards and three steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Ford, who posted 11 points.

Lovejoy's loss dropped their record down to 9-9. As for McIntosh, with the victory, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 6-12.

Lovejoy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next matchup, a 43-42 defeat against Midtown on the 20th. As for McIntosh, they will head out on the road to challenge Banneker at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. McIntosh is facing Banneker at the right time seeing as Banneker is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
