Basketball Recap: Newington Gets the Win

If Trumbull wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Newington, they should've done a better job of containing Kendall Miller. The Newington Nor'easters walked away with a 51-39 win over the Trumbull Eagles on Saturday thanks in part to Miller, who dropped a double-double on 21 points and 13 boards. That makes it five consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Newington's points.

The team also got some help courtesy of Hope Romanello, who posted 12 points and five rebounds. That's the most points she has posted since back in December of 2023.

Newington now has a winning record of 3-2. As for Trumbull, their loss dropped their record down to 1-1.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Newington will take on Northwest Catholic at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Trumbull, they will challenge Danbury at 7:00 p.m. on Friday.
