Hidalgo has gone 8-1 against Port Isabel recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. Hidalgo will take on Port Isabel at 6:00 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Hidalgo has five straight wins, Port Isabel has 21 straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

Hidalgo's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Tuesday. They walked away with a 4-0 victory over Rio Hondo.

Brent Ian Szczuroski was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while going 1-for-3. That's the most stolen bases he has posted since back in April of 2024. Jose Gonzalez also deserves some recognition as he snagged his first stolen base of the season.

Meanwhile, Saturday just wasn't the day for Port Isabel's offense. They lost 11-0 to Valley View on Saturday.

Hidalgo's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-5-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.0 runs on average over those games. As for Port Isabel, their loss dropped their record down to 0-10.

Hidalgo took their win against Port Isabel in their previous matchup back in April of 2024 by a conclusive 7-0. The rematch might be a little tougher for Hidalgo since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
