Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask UR Academy). They managed a 66-61 victory over the Riverwalk Academy Lions on Saturday. The win was a breath of fresh air for UR Academy as it put an end to their three-game losing streak.

Leading UR Academy to victory were Jordan Miller and Gabriel Thompson. Miller dropped a double-double on 26 points and 13 boards, while Thompson went 8 of 18 on his way to 23 points along with eight assists and seven boards. That makes it eight consecutive games in which Thompson has scored at least a third of UR Academy's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brysen Parker, who posted 11 points.

UR Academy smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least eight offensive boards in ten consecutive games.

UR Academy's victory bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Riverwalk Academy, they are on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

UR Academy will look to defend their home court on Monday against Providence Classical at 7:00 p.m. That contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Thompson and Grafton Eiff. As for Riverwalk Academy, they will head out to square off against Lewisville at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Lewisville will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Riverwalk Academy surely won't give up without a fight.
