Zach Tibbens of Curwensville ran for the longest rushing play in Allegheny Mountain - Southern this season against Elk County Catholic last week. Tibbens' team defeated the Crusaders as he sprinted for 97 yards on the play and finished with 273 in all.
Kane extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Ridgway, 27-18. The victory was the ninth in a row for the Wolves.
Elk County Catholic's dynamic duo of Andy Gebauer and Noah Werner proved to be unstoppable against Curwensville, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Gebauer threw for 20 yards and Werner had 10 yards receiving. Cory Huff helped Elk County Catholic's passing attack out by catching 1 ball for 10 yards.
Tibbens was a beast in the backfield as Andy Evanko's team bested Tony Gerg's team.
Tibbens was a passing and rushing force as the Golden Tide defeated the Crusaders.
Josh Zelinski was a key player and the best on defense this week as Elk County Catholic fell to Curwensville. The 5-foot-11 junior recorded 1 fumble.
Brockway's Alec Shaffer-Doan and Anthony Benson led the league in both passing and receiving yards. Shaffer-Doan has thrown for 1,632 yards this season, while Benson has 51 catches for 778 yards. Tibbens from the Golden Tide leads the league in rushing with 1,612 yards.
John English of the Kane is only 79 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 139 carries English has accumulated 921 yard this year.
The Crusaders fell to Curwensville 35-8 last week, the largest margin of any game. Mitchell Smith was a bright spot for Elk County Catholic, as he ran for 58 yards in the defeat.
